Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Sayforth, operated from North Carolina, United States ("Sayforth," "we," "us"), governing your use of the Sayforth iOS app and any related services (together, the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.

1. What the App is

Sayforth is a 30-day speaking practice program. You record short spoken practice sessions; the App measures pace, pauses, and related speech patterns on your device and, for coached sessions, sends the transcript and those measurements (not your audio) to a third-party AI service to generate written feedback. Details of what data is processed and where are in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

2. Eligibility

Sayforth is intended for users 16 and older. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. Sayforth is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

3. Subscriptions, billing, and trials

The App offers a free tier and an optional Daily coaching subscription, billed and processed entirely through Apple's App Store, at $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year. There is no weekly subscription option.

  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period expires, at the price you agreed to.
  • Free trial. A 7-day free trial is available on the annual plan only, for first-time subscribers. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your Apple ID is charged the full annual price and the subscription begins its normal annual renewal cycle. There is no trial on the monthly plan.
  • Managing and canceling. Manage or cancel your subscription any time in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Sayforth, or in the App Store app under your account. Canceling stops future renewals; you keep Daily coaching access through the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Price changes. If we change subscription pricing, Apple will notify you in advance and, per App Store rules, existing subscribers must consent to the new price before it applies to them.
  • Restore Purchases. If you reinstall the App or switch devices, use the Restore Purchases control in Settings to restore an active subscription tied to your Apple ID.

4. Refunds

All payments are processed by Apple, and all refund requests are handled by Apple under its own policies, not by us. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or use Report a Problem in your purchase history on your device. We're not able to issue refunds directly and don't have visibility into Apple's refund decisions.

5. About the AI-generated feedback

Sayforth's feedback, including the observation, the suggested change, and the drill shown after a coached session, is generated by an AI system based on metrics measured from your speech and is intended to help you practice more effectively. It is not professional coaching, therapy, medical, legal, career, or any other form of professional advice, and shouldn't be treated as a substitute for guidance from a qualified professional. Sayforth never produces an overall score or grade; any number you see (a pace, a pause length, a trend line) is a measurement of that session, not an evaluation of you.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the App to record anyone without their knowledge and consent; attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the App's models, prompts, or underlying systems; use automated means to access the App outside of normal use; interfere with the App's operation or other users' access to it; or use the App for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.

7. Your content and our intellectual property

You retain ownership of your recordings and anything you say while using the App. By using coached sessions, you grant us a limited license to process the resulting transcript and metrics solely to generate your feedback and operate the App, as described in our Privacy Policy; we don't use your content to train AI models, and your audio never leaves your device. The App itself, including its design, program structure, prompts, and branding, is owned by Sayforth and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the App outside of normal personal use.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that using Sayforth will produce any particular outcome in an interview, meeting, presentation, or elsewhere; the illustrative examples shown in the App and on this website describe typical changes, not promises. Speech measurement and AI-generated feedback can be imperfect, and the App may occasionally misjudge or fail to measure a session clearly, in which case it will say so rather than guess.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sayforth is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $50 if you haven't paid us anything.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your data at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Termination doesn't cancel an active Apple subscription; cancel that separately through your Apple ID as described in section 3.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the effective date above and, where the change is significant, notify you in the App before it takes effect. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. This does not affect any consumer protection rights you have under the law of your own place of residence.

13. Apple's standard licensed application terms

In addition to these Terms, your use of the App is subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies by default to apps distributed through the App Store, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these Terms and Apple's standard EULA conflict on a matter Apple's terms govern (such as license scope), Apple's terms control.
