How it works

Five minutes a day. One question, out loud.

Sayforth opens on today’s practice, not a dashboard. Here is Day 8 of an example Season, start to finish, and then the thirty days it belongs to.

1 · Open

One invitation, one button.

The day, the experiment as a question, one line of instruction, and yesterday as a single line. Below the button, seven quiet marks and a plain count: 6 of the last 7 days.

2 · Speak

The room dims. Your line begins.

The stroke extends while you speak and stops while you are silent. Silence is the only thing on the screen that can create space, so you see a pause while you are taking one.

The target zone is two faint marks at 45 and 75 seconds. There is no large timer. The goal is to speak clearly, not to beat a clock.

3 · Wait, briefly

Three honest steps.

Transcribed on your iPhone. Measured your pauses. Asking your coach. Each one ticks when it has truly finished. No spinner, no invented thinking.

4 · Read

What happened, then what matters.

One observation on your own line, your focus in one sentence, tomorrow’s instruction, and a 30-second drill if you want it. The transcript and the numbers sit behind one quiet button.

5 · Done

Today joins the season.

Your line slides onto the Season page as its own ruled row, with one sentence of evidence and a teaser for tomorrow. Then you are done.

Thirty days

Four chapters. One focus each.

1

Find your paceDays 1 to 7

Day 1 is a baseline on a question you will answer again on Day 30. The rest of the week settles a steady, conversational pace.

Evidence on Days 3 and 7
2

Make one pointDays 8 to 14

Say the point in one sentence, then give one reason. Your line shows where the point landed, and how long you took to reach it.

3

Speak under pressureDays 15 to 21

Think time drops to five seconds and the questions get harder. The work is keeping that first sentence when there is less room to plan it.

Put it togetherDays 22 to 30

Interview and meeting drills, then Day 30: the Day 1 question again, so the comparison is fair.

The Season page

A page filling with lines, not a calendar of cells.

Each rule is a day. A line is a take. Empty rules are days to come. A small hollow mark is a day you repaired by practicing the next one.

Records are effort only: your longest run, sessions this week, minutes spoken. No speech number is ever a record, because a record turns a measurement into a target.

The journey

Evidence you can hear, not a number to chase.

  • Days 3, 7, 14, 21

Day 1’s line above today’s, on one axis.

One honest sentence, and a button to hear both. Observations, never grades.

  • Day 30, first

Thirty days ago you answered this. Answer it again.

You do not hear Day 1 first, so the answer is yours and not a copy.

  • Day 30, then

    Hear the difference.

Hear both takes, read both transcripts with the main point marked, and see three measured numbers: pace, long pauses, hedges.

Day 1

This is where we start.
Nothing to get right.

Day 1 is one question and about a minute of your voice. It is a baseline, not a test. Free to start, with no account and no paywall before your first session.
